Welcome

As Jason kindly mentioned in the introduction to our new JFGA Performance Code blog last week – We Don’t Guess. We Measure.

This ethos is such a vital part of what we do at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy because we know that there is no one way to have the perfect golf swing, or perfect game, unless you have a complete grasp on your abilities and potential.

Academy Director at JFGA

As Academy Director at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy, I work with Jason to ensure our training standards are always held to the highest standards we have at the academy.

With Jason, I have helped assist in bringing in a range of technologies. Technology is very important because we believe that the ‘one glove fits all’ approach doesn’t work and that a personalised programme is the only way to ensure our students see and feel improvements in their golfing performance.

At the Jason Floyd Golf Academy, we are proud to offer our students such a comprehensive training programme. Using the systems we have, we offer the best experience for our students because we know that the performance data supports and proves that what we do here creates positive results in each player.

We Don’t Guess. We Measure.

Whilst many will try to recreate a particular style of play, we know that each student is completely individual when it comes to their game. It’s this particular reason that led us to ask more of what was available and offer a bespoke experience for our students, using a wide array of data to guarantee we deliver our ‘We Don’t Guess. We Measure’ ethos.

Bespoke Programmes

Our bespoke evaluation and training at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy not only lets us improve performance but uses the latest technologies available in golf to provide scientific data that allows us to fine tune the most minor performance inhibiting traits.

The data captured at JFGA is so robust that we can pinpoint the tiniest changes of pressure to full analysis of golf ball trajectory using Trackman 4, which utilises a dual Doppler radar and dual camera system.

Our Approach Is Different.

In our first official blog, I’d like to discuss some of the technologies we are using at Jason Floyd Golf Academy and how we use the data we capture to create a bespoke performance plan. It is this ‘We Don’t Guess. We Measure.’ ethos that allows our JFGA instructors to make calculated adjustments backed by professional athlete level data and continued performance management to achieve the best results for each player.

Embracing Technology

Seeing is believing. It’s one of the reasons we are so confident in what we do at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy.

Data helps us determine the best ways in which to create a bespoke training package for each individual player, but from a student’s perspective, being able to see those changes visually tracked through our data capture enables a clear understanding of the adjustments we make and why they will make them a better player.

KinetiX Screening by the Jason Floyd Golf Academy

The KinetiX programme was developed by JFGA to create a screening programme that meets the demands of elite level golf performance and complements the high standards already established under the JFGA ethos, ‘We Don’t Guess. We Measure.’

Designed as an ultimate level fitness programme, KinetiX prepares junior golfers for the demands of elite level golf performance.

Oli, our Strength, Conditioning & Nutrition Instructor will be going into more detail on the full KinetiX screening and evaluation we do at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy next week so make sure to check back for that.

To give an overview of the purpose of KinetiX Screening, it’s first best to understand that at JFGA we believe in students being an athlete first & golfer second.

To succeed in any sport you need to work with your body, not against it. Despite what some think – no one is fault free. We all have minor differences in our bodies that can impact our performance abilities. What Oli does through KinetiX is to find those differences and determine a bespoke training method to work with the student’s physical abilities and make changes that will work in their training programme.

Understanding the core mobility and stability throughout the body will lead to adjustments that will make the individual more aware of their natural limitations and how to overcome them.

Bio Dynamic Screen

In the human body, there are so many factors that can make differences between one athlete to another.

Not only are our bodies always in constant forms of change but, as we develop from children to adults, there are usually more dramatic body changes that can affect performance.

Roy, our JFGA Instructor, will be touching on this topic in his first blog in mid May but to summarise what our Bio Dynamic screening involves is to understand how the measurements of each individual’s body work to create the forces required during golf play.

By measuring how the body is pre-disposed to move using data from height/wingspan, forearm/upper arm, trail arm/grip, pivot (post), hip speed, our instructors at JFGA can correct physical barriers and work with the body to enable performance improvements.

TrackMan 4

PGA selected, TrackMan 4 is the pinnacle of innovation in the world of golf.

At the Jason Floyd Golf Academy, all our students have access to this leading edge tracking system.

Featuring two independent radars along with dual cameras, TrackMan 4 data is unparalleled when it comes to golfing. Every shot is tracked in real-time with a full 3D trajectory including launch and impact data. Each student at the JFGA has a personal student profile and, working alongside the physical programmes, we can monitor changes and improvements during their time at the academy.

TrackMan 4 is another way we ensure our ‘We Don’t Guess. We Measure.’ ethos.

Smart2Move

Force creates motion and even the smallest misalignment of force can result in a golf shot that doesn’t react in the expected way.

Using this system at JFGA, we measure from the ground up because how you use the ground can have a major impact on your game.

In conjunction with our TrackMan 4 and V1 Pro HD, which I will discuss after, Smart2Move helps form another area of our student’s data profile to build a complete overview of movement and ability.

By measuring the ground reaction forces, we can fine tune glide, spin and launch to help students maximise the power they can generate to the ball by working with their body’s natural ability.

V1 Pro HD

The V1 Pro HD represents our most visual system in 4 HD cameras that capture along the horizontal and vertical planes of sight. Using this system in conjunction with the previous technologies I have discussed, students can see themselves in before and after video footage showing their progress and performance after our instructors have used the data from TrackMan 4, Smart2Move, Bio Dynamic and KinetiX screening to provide a completely bespoke training programme.

Data is Key

As you can see, our range of technologies here at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy are all very specific to our overall instructing methodology.

Data is a key element but our team even more so because of how we interpret that data to make positive changes.

To really understand and see what we do here and why we are so confident in our programme, we invite you to visit us here at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy where you can meet our team and see our facilities first hand. Booking in for our assessment at JFGA will let you experience everything that makes the Jason Floyd Golf Academy a bespoke golfing experience.
