Not only did Hovland’s impressive performance earn him the coveted trophy, but it also brought him a substantial paycheck of $3.6 million. The defining moment for the young champion occurred on the 17th hole when he sunk a remarkable 27-foot birdie putt, positioning himself just one stroke behind the leader.
