The Andalucían golf resort will host the Solheim Cup 2023, the international women’s golf tournament next year with the tournament taking place on 18-24 September 2023. The international women’s golf competition will see the European and American teams compete against each other in what is the female equivalent to the men’s Ryder Cup.

This is the first time the event will be held in Spain and marks a tremendous moment for Andalucía, highlighting the high level of golf in the Costa del Sol to the sporting world.

Speaking about the Solheim Cup, Jason Floyd, founder of the Jason Floyd Golf Academy said, “Having the Solheim Cup in Spain is fantastic for Andalucía and the golfing community. Finca Cortesin has been a course that our students have had the opportunity to play as part of our WAGR Triple A World Series – Triple A European Championship. The course is one of the finest in Europe and having the Solheim Cup held here highlights the quality of golf in Spain.”

This year, The Triple A European Championship will be held at Finca Cortesin on 30 November – 2 December. The tournament is open to all junior golfers who have a handicap of 20 or less and bookings can be made for the tournament only, or training packages can be booked with our team where players can have 5 days pre or post tournament training at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy. 

The Solheim Cup Arrives at the home of the Jason Floyd Golf Academy

Today the Solheim Cup continues it’s tour of Andalucía and makes it’s way to the home of the Jason Floyd Golf Academy – The San Roque Club. 

The Solheim Cup will be on display until Monday 6pm and golf enthusiasts can attend to see it as part of this historic moment for Spain. 

On Sunday the President of the Andalucían Federation will be attending The San Roque Club where a presentation will be held to mark the arrival of the Solheim Cup in Spain.  

Speaking about the Solheim Cup arriving today at The San Roque Club, Jason said, “Having the Solheim Cup at The San Roque Club is an honour for our students and team. It is an inspiration to our students to be able to see the cup here at the academy and creates a positive impact on their aspirations to be future champions in the game.”

The Solheim Cup is expected to be a significant event in 2023. As one of the most prestigious competitions for women’s teams on the international golf calendar, the top players in the world are expected to be visiting Andalucía to watch the top women players battle it out as Team Europe Captain, Suzzann Pettersen and Team USA Captain, Stacy Lewis go head to head. 

Two teams of twelve players representing Europe and the United States will compete over three days in a total of twenty-eight games.
