Tiger Christensen – Jason Floyd Golf Academy student and soon to be Junior at the University of Arizona has qualified for the 151st Open Championship

The British Open, also known as The Open Championship, is one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the world as well as a major on the PGA Tour.

Tiger Christensen, who will be entering his junior year at Arizona in the fall, earned one of five qualifying spots at a tourney in Liverpool, England. He shot a 9-under par 135 over two rounds at West Lancashire Golf Club, tying for fourth place.

Tiger, who is a native of Hamburg, Germany is a student at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy having formerly graduated from the Triple A Junior and Elite programmes. He developed his golf skills during those 4 years with Jason and the team and has continued his training with the Jason Floyd Golf Academy since.

Jason Floyd, Founder of the Jason Floyd Golf Academy said, “Tiger has been working with our team at the JFGA since the age of 14 and has always shown the desire and hunger to make it to the top of the game. He’s worked incredibly hard, dealt with the ups and downs of the game and truly deserves all the success he is currently experiencing.”

Tiger  joined the University of Arizona in January after spending 1 ½ seasons at Oklahoma State. During the spring he appeared in eight tournaments for the Wildcats, his 71.68 scoring average second-best on the team, and tied for 41st at the NCAA Morgan Hill Regional in May.

Tiger will be going back to University of Arizona as a Junior in 2023/2024

The 151st Open Championship is set for July 20-23 at Royal Liverpool, which is hosting the tourney for the 13th time.
