Siemens Crowned Triple A European Masters Champion

Triple A Junior Student Carl Siemens impressive performance at the Triple A European Masters saw him don the Blue Jacket after wining the U21 category, despite only being 15 years of age!

A nail biting finish saw Siemens and Jorge Ramos tied for the lead with 2 holes to play with Frederik Strandberg just one shot back!

After his drive on the 17th finished just metres away from the Penalty Area, Siemens was forced to layup on the par 5, just short of the green. Strandberg, just one shot back, forced the aggressive play, hitting his 2nd shot onto the par 5 green in two, leaving a 30 foot eagle putt and applying the pressure to his fellow German, Siemens.

Carl Siemens perfectly executed pitch into the par 5 17th

Siemens, now faced with a tricky pitch, to a flag tucked on top of a ridge realistically had to get up and down to maintain his slender lead.
Cool, calm and collected Carl pulled off one of the shots of the tournament, under pressure. A Low, penetrating pitch shot, landed on top of the ridge, one hop, two hops and spin, leaving his ball just 2 feet from the hole for birdie!

As expected Strandberg two putted for birdie and Jorge Ramos made par.

Siemens tapped in for his birdie to maintain his one shot advantage going up the last.

After two perfect drives and two excellent approach shots into the 18th green, 3 days of tournament play was all down to the putts on the final green for Siemens and Strandberg.

Siemens rolled his 20 footer up, hole side leaving the equation extremely clear for Strandberg, hole his 8 foot birdie putt to force a play off.

Stranbergs ball left the putter face, rolling at perfect speed, seemingly on a perfect line, but at the last instant broke right past the hole.

After a battling final day, 15 year old Siemens tapped in the final two foot putt for a 1 shot victory in the U21 category.

A very impressive victory from a very impressive young player. Congratulations Carl Siemens!
