The Jason Floyd Golf Academy hosted the Triple A World Series Final pre-tournament dinner on Monday 25 April at the San Roque Club. JFGA students and their families had the opportunity to meet, and enjoy a tremendous dinner at the San Roque Clubhouse.

Special Guests

Students, parents and the team from the Jason Floyd Golf Academy were also joined by special guests from Sotogrande International School who also competed in the Nearest To The Pin competition.

Guests from Sotogrande International School included, Jak Kearney – Head and CEO, Kevin Stone – Head of Secondary School & Teacher of Physical & Health Education, Charles Debenham – Teacher & Head of Boarding and Mannan Mohammed – Interim Head of Elite Sports.

Nearest The Pin

After dinner everyone was invited to participate in a Nearest To The Pin competition overlooking the 9th hole of the San Roque Club, Old Course from the members terrace.

7 Feet Takes the Lead

After some amazing shots from the all the guests, Kajus Pacauskas shot into the lead as the JFGA team measured out 7 feet from the hole. Students, parents and special guests from Sotogrande International School tried their best to take the record away but Kajus was holding on.

As the sun set and night set in over the course, Nina Wojtczak stood waiting in the background. Unsure whether to compete or not as the course was now highly obstructed due to the darkness, the team cheered her on and Nina took her position and lined up ready to take the last shot of the night.

Night Sets In

Staring out over the water of the 9th hole, the green was completely out of view apart from three small lights that illuminated the edges. Kajus watched on while Nina readied herself and took her swing. The ball flew almost immediately out of sight before the distant thud could be heard on the opposite side of the water. Matt, Dan and Roy set out to find the ball while everyone on the terrace side waited eagerly for the result.

Results: A Nervous Wait

Waiting in silence, Academy Director, Matt finally connected through the phone. Everyone looked on to Lorne at the leaderboard waiting for the result. “This looks good! This looks good!” Said Matt as he waited for the measurements. “2 feet! 2 feet!”

Nina, in disbelief, had just jumped into the lead with an amazing final shot taking the title of Nearest To The Pin Champion of the night. Taking the top position, Nina was awarded for her fantastic effort with a set of Titleist Pro V1X golf balls.

The JFGA team would like to congratulate both Nina and Kajus for their tremendous team effort during the night. Both took the top positions in a fun evening of golf.
