This year’s Solheim Cup is set to be especially captivating, with Europe’s women aiming for a remarkable third consecutive victory. The stage is Finca Cortesin in Andalucia, where emotions are expected to run high as both Europe and the United States are led by uncompromising and forthright captains, Suzann Pettersen and Stacy Lewis, respectively.
Stacy Lewis expressed her anticipation, saying, “It’s one of the things I look forward to the most about this Solheim Cup is going up against her. We both have kind of the personalities that hopefully we don’t have any rules issues because I don’t think either one of us will back down.”
The Solheim Cup has seen its share of dramatic moments, including the infamous “gimme-gate” incident involving Suzann Pettersen in the 2015 match in Germany. Such incidents have added to the intensity of the competition, making it a must-watch event for golf enthusiasts.

With a core group of players ranking in the world’s top 40, Europe is fielding one of its strongest teams in Solheim Cup history. The selection of Emily Kristine Pedersen and Caroline Hedwall, ranked 121st and 122nd in the world, showcases Pettersen’s faith in Scandinavian Solheim grit over current form.
