Summer days are meant for sunshine, laughter, and creating memories that last a lifetime. At the Jason Floyd Golf Academy, this summer was filled with swings, putts, and a whole lot of fun as the hosted the first for its 2023 summer camps. As the first camp has come to an end, it’s time to celebrate the achievements of the junior golfers who graduated.
A Swing into Success: The Jason Floyd Golf Academy Summer Camp
Located at The San Roque Club in the south of Spain, the Jason Floyd Golf Academy offers aspiring junior golfers the chance to learn from an expert team in a supportive and engaging environment. This summer, students from all over the world, joined ant the Jason Floyd Golf Academy and embarked on a journey that instills love for golf while helping students develop their Mental, Physical and Technical skills.
The 2 camps at the academy are spread over four weeks in two week blocks. Under the expert guidance of experienced coaches and instructors, the students were divided into Junior and Elite groups based on their skill levels, ensuring personalised attention and a tailored curriculum.
Driving Success: Activities and Highlights
The summer camp at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy is not just about learning the mechanics of golf. It is an all-encompassing experience that combines learning with camaraderie and recreation. Some of the activities and highlights that make the Jason Floyd Golf Academy camp truly memorable include:
- Fundamentals of Golf: From gripping the club to perfecting their stance, the students received a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals. Using state-of-the-art technology at the JFGA, such as TrackMan and Smart2Move, each student on the camp gets a bespoke programme designed specifically for their golf and athletic requirements.
- Swing Analysis and Improvement: Every golfer’s journey is unique, and the academy ensures that each student’s swing is carefully analysed to identify areas for improvement. With one-on-one coaching, campers can hone their swings and make remarkable progress.
- Putting and Short Game Challenges: The importance of the short game cannot be underestimated, and campers spend considerable time mastering their putting and chipping skills.
- Course Play and Etiquette: Golf is not just a physical sport but also a mental one. Students learn about golf course etiquette, with access to both of The San Roque Club’s two championship courses, sportsmanship, and the mental aspect of the game, equipping them with valuable life skills.
- Team-building Activities: Beyond golfing drills, the academy organises team-building activities that foster a sense of camaraderie and friendship among the campers. These experiences bring everyone together, making lasting connections.
