Our first month of Performance Code has ended and we’re delighted with the response and great feedback we’ve received. A big thank you to all our students and readers.

Performance Code – May Recap

May was all about our core academy values and Matt, Oli, Roy & Dan went into great detail on the various philosophies we use at JFGA to ensure we meet our key ethos of, ‘We Don’t Guess. We Measure.’

Let’s look at a quick recap of what was discussed over May before we discuss the topics that our team will be covering in our June edition of Performance Code.

Matt – Academy Director at JFGA

Matt gave us our first official Performance Code blog. He discussed our bespoke golf programme and the types of data we use to ensure that we create a tailored approach to improving golfing performance in each of our students; whether that be on our full-time Triple A Elite Golf programmes or Part-Time, GAP Year & Transition Year Programs.

Matt has been a key element over the years in assisting me to plan and implement the leading-edge technologies we use here at JFGA and in supporting and helping aid in the creation of the bespoke golf education experience that we offer to all of our students.

From our custom created KinetiX physical programme for Elite level golfers, BioSwing Dynamic Screening to measure the individual differences in each student’s body and how that impacts the forces used in golf, TrackMan 4 – PGA selected technology offering leading-edge radar and camera tracking, Smart2Move to measure ground reaction forces to fine-tune glide, spin & launch and maximise power they can generate and our V1 Pro HD system which captures HD slow-motion video to analyse various angles of golf swing analysis.

Data at JFGA is a key element and one that differentiates what we offer through our Elite golf programme. By taking a scientific approach to golf performance, our team use data to create a bespoke approach that maximises the opportunity for each of our students to get the best results in their golfing performance.

Oli – Strength, Conditioning & Nutrition Coach

The KinetiX physical programme was created by the Jason Floyd Golf Academy to address the need for an Elite physical programme that was suited to the needs of aspiring golfers.

Athletic ability in golf has never been more important. Modern-day golf requires incredible Ballistic Speed along with significant levels of mobility, stability, hand-eye coordination & balance.

PGA Tour driver clubhead speeds are approaching 115mph with some players even able to reach a staggering 130mph. For aspiring professional golfers, developing athletic ability is now a necessity to guarantee success.

Roy – JFGA Golf Instructor

At the Jason Floyd Golf Academy, we have always held that the ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t work. Just watch golfers such as Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia, Brooks Keopka and Bubba Watson and you will see that they all have very different golf swings.

BioSwing Dynamic Screening is the philosophy we use at the Jason Floyd Golf Academy to determine how individuals utilise the three main power sources the human body is capable of creating – Lateral, Rotational and Vertical Forces.

At JFGA we use this to analyse and identify students’ swing DNA allowing our team to fine-tune a bespoke programme based on that student’s body movements and therefore help them define their swing style.

Dan – JFGA Golf Instructor

In the last blog of May by our team, Dan discussed the outline of the Putting Philosophies we follow.

Putting accounts for around 43% of your total golf strokes – almost half of your game. Perfecting your putting is therefore a crucial element.

In Dan’s blog, he looked at the technical skills that are essential to putting success. Green Reading, Start Line and Ball Performance.

Using technologies such as AimPoint and SAM, we give student’s the skills they need to make accurate judgements and decisions when putting.

This month our focus will be On Course Performance.

As the preparation for tournament season begins to ramp up – our team will be providing a range of information over July.

This month:

  • Matt will be discussing the the importance of the Fitting Process and how that translates into On Course performance.
  • Oli will be discussing the benefits of getting nutrition right in his Tournament Nutrition blog.
  • Roy will be discussing how to deal best with Sloping Lies and Escapology.
  • Dan will be discussing Pre-Shot Routines and how to utilise Process Boxes in your tournament preparation.

We look forward to sharing this new content with you and remember that you can tag us or ask questions on any of the blog posts on our Instagram feed. @jasonfloydgolfacademy #jfgaperformancecode.
